In the fall of 2007, The Beacon Light Mission
Board of Directors stepped out in faith and made
a decision to build a shelter for homeless single
women.  All the shelters in the South Bay were for
women with children, and the single lady had no
place to stay.  If there was a bed available it went
to the mother with the child first.

In January of 2008 a forming committee was
made.  These ladies were from churches around
the south bay area.  In July of 2010 we had our
ground breaking ceremony and started building.
In September of 2011 the Doors of Hope
Women's Shelter opened its doors.

We can house up to 20 ladies.  We provide
breakfast, dinner, clothing, showers, hygiene
items and a bed to sleep in.

Chapel service each night is a requirement.  We
give them a hope and love here at the Doors of
