In the South Bay, 25% of the homeless population have endured domestic abuse, and the majority of that population is women
Whether it’s due to escaping domestic abuse, struggling with addiction, or falling on hard times, homeless women are looking for a place to eat a warm meal, a fresh shower, and a place to lay their heads.
Doors of Hope, Beacon Light Mission’s women’s homeless shelter, not only provides immediate needs but we also offer life-transforming resources. Women facing homelessness come through our doors to find the love of Jesus, an opportunity for spiritual growth, and a path to get off the streets permanently.
Through our women’s shelter, we meet physical needs by providing:
A Safe Place for Sleep
We have 25 beds for women. If you need a bed, please call (310)-830-7063 to check availability. You may also come to the front door between 10:00 AM-1:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Warm Meals
We offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
Day Rooms
Women living on the streets can visit our day room from 1:00 PM-6:45 PM, every day.
Clean Showers
Every Monday and Thursday, we host shower days. If you are in need of a shower, be here at 8:30 AM to reserve your spot. We will provide a fresh set of clothing and hygiene items as well as a warm breakfast and cold lunch-to-go.

For women who turn to us for shelter, we help them grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

COUNSELING
For many women experiencing homelessness, they are struggling with trauma, addiction, and mental illness. At Beacon Light, we help counsel women towards a new path of success.
A NEW PATH IN LIFE
We help women put a plan in place to get off the streets permanently.

If you need a bed, call to check on availability at 310-830-7063, or come to the front door between 10 AM and 1 PM, Monday through Friday. The day room hours are 1 PM to 6:45 PM, seven days a week.
Shower days are Mondays and Thursdays. Be here at 8:30 AM to reserve your spot. A fresh set of clothing and hygiene items are included. Breakfast and a cold lunch-to-go will also be provided.
At 6:45 PM, all guests attend our chapel service.
